Contractor closes down facility over unpaid dues

Residents of Dungaree beach woke up to a shock this morning when they found the local health center had been closed.

Both patients and workers at the facility said they came in in the morning but found the place locked up.

The facility was built by the Kisumu County government and has been crucial in providing health services to the residents of the area.

The contractor who had been given the work to construct it is said to have locked up the facility over his unpaid dues.Wycliff Wagunda Nyabola of Blasovilla Holdings Kenya Ltd closed up the facility over a debt of 4.4M by the county Government of Kisumu.

Chairman of the Beach Management Unit Joel Otieno said the hospital has been very beneficial to them at the beach through Collaboration with another,KMET,which has been offering crucial services.

Chief officer of health Dr.Ojwang Lusi has however re assured the residents to be patient as the sort out the issue.
