Andrew Odhiambo wins East Gem MCA seat on FORK-K ticket.

Andrew Odhiambo has been awarded the Forum for the Restoration of Democracy-Kenya (FORD-K ) party ticket to vie for East Gem MCA seat after he won against his opponent Mathews Juma Aywaya in the just conducted party primaries today Monday.
Odhiambo garnered 145 votes against Juma who managed 119 votes in the nomination exercise conducted in two polling stations( Sagam primary and Bar Kalare primary) and now he will battle it out with other contestants from other political parties come the general elections in August.
FORD-K party chairman in Siaya County Mr. Andrew Onyango Aduda said that the only conduced nominations in East Gem Ward where there were two candidates jostling for the party ticket to vie for MCA post.
Mr. Onyango who was speaking at Sagam primary mentioned that all the other candidates in the county have been given direct party nomination as they had no opponents to contest with.
He said the party is going to fill in three candidates who will vie for Member of Parliament seat who have also been awarded direct party tickets and that they are not going to fill in any candidate for the gubernatorial seat.
The three candidates who will be vying for MPs seat on FORD-K party ticket include Rosemary Ogutu (Alego/Usonga).Patrick Delvis Okello (Bondo) and Okello Rogo (Gem constituency).
He said that FORD-K party stands for democracy and peace and therefore they are advocating for fairness and peace at all cost.
The nomination exercise which was conducted through secret ballot saw a 50 per cent turn out and that they used their party register to ensure there was no voter importation.
The Returning Officer in charge who presided over the nominations Mrs. Caroline Oduor termed the nomination exercise peaceful and successful as there were no reported cases of violence or irregularities.
