ODM party national election board chairman Mr.Bob Arunga has said that the party members whose names will be missing in the party register but has mobile phone sms which proves that they registered electronically are allowed to participate in the on going ODM party primaries.

Speaking to the press Mr.Arunga said only the party register should be used during the nomination exercise; however they allow individuals with proof of having registered electronically to participate because there could be some error in the register.

Mr.Arunga said the EIBC register will only be used to confirm that those participating in the party primaries as registered voters.

His remarks on who should participate on the ODM party primaries comes amid confusion among Migori county ODM supporters  on the eligible voters in the ODM party primaries set for 21st April 2017.

It is therefore clear that only registered party members are allowed to participate in the ongoing ODM party primaries and not all IEBC  registered voter as being speculated.

Meanwhile Migori county ODM National Election Board coordinator Mr. Tom Otike has denounced rumors propagated by some politicians that some aspirants already have ballot papers for rigging the primaries.

Mr.Otike said anybody who will be found in possession of fake ballot papers will be arrested and disqualified immediately.

He said the elections rules are very clear and therefore anybody who shall breach the election rules will be subjected to punitive measures.

Mr.Otike assured free and fair party nominations to all aspirants in Migori County urging them to maintain peace during the exercise.
